Right Options

Having worked within the Education and Training sectors for over 25 years in various positions, my first taste of Education and accredited Training was through Moray College where, as a Lecturer I had the opportunity to feed into the development of the new work based SVQs. Commercial experience ranges from Air Traffic Control to Retail and tomato harvesting! Third Sector experience includes volunteer Board Membership of a Third Sector Interface. Working with young people at the College gave me a taste of how diverse and complicated the needs of young people were when it came to moving on in their lives. Having the opportunity to work with a Training Provider on relocating gave me an idea of what could be achieved on their behalf given the freedom to work out-with the constraints of traditional learning routes. I have previously had the opportunity to create an Independent School providing an Alternative Vocational opportunity for young people who found it difficult to engage with Mainstream. I have also taken part in the creation of qualifications including Assessor/Internal Verifier awards; Assessed, Verified and Externally Verified various qualifications across the UK including Modern Apprenticeships. To ensure quality delivery I have undertaken quality awards such as EFQM Lead Auditor.   

I have extensive experience of working across a range sectors including skills, employability, education, community development, fundraising and business development. Throughout my career and while holding voluntary board positions I have maintained my passion for inclusiveness and equality and helping to challenge and break down barriers that people have in society. With support from others and some great partnership and collaborative working hopefully I have succeeded! I have always tried to understand the personal perspective and where the individual "is at" and the rationale for their thinking – we all have differing circumstances and influences. I bring this approach and philosophy into Right Options and try to share it with all those we support and collaborate with. 

Trainer, Assessor, Internal Verifier, External Verifier . 

Having over 30 years experience in the customer service and hospitality industries, I am very aware of the high standards expected by today’s customers and how properly trained staff can help businesses achieve these expectations. I have supported a broad range of employers across a variety of sectors to ensure that their workforce were highly trained and effective. My motto is that there are no mistakes, only learning opportunities!
